Appointment: Most carriers offer a window for delivery that may be up to 4 hours.
Our planters feature automotive paint with UV resistance, ideal for extreme conditions. However, avoid storing them in wet or steamy conditions, as it may damage the finish. Normal use with immediate water drainage after installation is harmless.
Jay Scotts Fiberglass Planters require minimal maintenance. Both glossy and matte finishes can be cleaned with standard household cleaning products, such as dishwashing soap. Avoid solutions with bleach, power washing, steel wool, or abrasives that may scratch your planter. For glossy finishes, an annual polish with automotive or marine wax enhances the look and provides extra protection, especially in extreme weather.
We do not recommend wax for matte finishes unless it’s specifically formulated. Maintenance Minor scuffs and scratches on glossy finishes can often be buffed out. We offer touch-up paint kits for nicks and scratches.

Potsdam Tall Corner Planter - the tall, space-saving statement piece
If you’re hunting for a tall corner planter that actually makes corners useful, this 32-inch profile is spot on. The square footprint tucks into tight spots, the vertical height puts greenery right at eye level, and the clean, modern lines read upscale on a porch, patio, balcony, or in a living room.
What it’s made of
Materials matter. This corner planter uses fiberglass for strength-to-weight performance and an automotive-grade, UV-resistant topcoat for fade resistance. Every unit is painted to order and covered by a 3-year warranty, so you can count on durable color and easy care season after season.
Finishes that fit every palette
This 32 inch tall planter has a clean square profile, so color reads like a design choice, not an afterthought. It mixes easily with other tall planters for a coordinated row indoors or as tall porch planters outside.
Prefer light and airy? Gloss or Matte Bright White keep rooms crisp. A tall white planter indoor looks gallery-clean next to light oak and linen; deep green or silvery foliage like olive, rosemary, or snake plant really pops. White planter also flatters any front door color.
Matte Black feels architectural. A tall black planter frames an entry and hides soil or irrigation on busy porches. Pair with sculptural foliage like Sansevieria or a boxwood sphere.
For subtle calm, Matte Cement Grey and Gunmetal make a refined tall planter. Grey bridges warm and cool palettes, so it’s easy with concrete, stucco, quartz, and black windows. Blue-green plants like festuca or senecio keep the look sophisticated for planters indoor.
Want color that still feels upscale? Matte Cobalt Blue delivers. A blue planter is striking against white clapboard or light stucco; try dwarf citrus or rosemary outside, or Bird of Paradise by walnut furniture inside.
Building a set? Use Matte Black at the door and Cement Grey around the corner so it feels intentional. Light finishes visually slim a tall skinny planter in small rooms, while darker tones ground wide porches. Match matte with matte or gloss with gloss to keep everything cohesive.
Indoor or outdoor? Both.
Use it indoors to lift plants above furniture lines without hogging floor space, or as porch planters to frame an entry and add vertical interest without blocking sightlines.
The square form also plays nicely in pairs for symmetry, or in a left/right combo to wrap a 90-degree corner and continue a straight row around a bend - exactly what this model is designed to do.
Drainage and planting setup
By default, fiberglass planters are often supplied with or without pre-drilled drainage depending on your request. Ask for holes if this will live outside; keep it un-drilled for interiors with a liner and saucer. Note that planters customized with drainage are typically non-returnable, so decide before ordering.
How it fits: proportions & scale
At 32" tall, consider it a large tall planter with a slender footprint - the look people call skinny. A good rule is plant height about 1 to 1.5x the planter height. That means a finished arrangement around 32-48" tall feels balanced for doorways, corners, and window walls.
Where it shines
Front porches, covered entries, balcony corners, patio nooks, stair landings, living room corners, office lobbies, and along hall turns. It also works as a subtle room divider when placed in a rhythm down a corridor. For outdoor flower pots, line two or three along a railing or low wall; for interiors, a single piece anchors a reading corner without clutter.
Plant suggestions that love a tall, 16" square profile
For sun-drenched porches and patios, think vertical thrillers that stay tidy: Sky Pencil holly, compact bay laurel, dwarf olive, boxwood topiary, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, or New Zealand flax (phormium). Edge with spillers like silver dichondra or trailing ivy and seasonal color - petunias, calibrachoa, or lantana - for that tall outdoor flower pots look.
For bright, indirect indoor light, go structural: Sansevieria (snake plant), ZZ plant, Dracaena ‘Massangeana’, Parlor palm, or Ficus ‘Alii’. In lower light, snake plant and ZZ are the safest bets. For a modern tropical note in a tall pot, try Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia nicolai) in strong light and rotate monthly to keep it upright.
If you prefer edible or fragrance moments near doors, tuck in rosemary standards, dwarf citrus (outdoor warmth only), or lavender in full sun.
Color pairing cheat-sheet
If you’re eyeing a tall white planter (gloss or matte), pair it with light woods, linen, pale stone, and soft greens; plants with deep green or silvery foliage pop - olive, rosemary, eucalyptus. For a planter indoors, layer whites, creams, and oatmeal textiles for a calm, coastal look.
Tall rectangular in Matte Black loves contrast - graphic entryways with checkerboard tile, red brick, or warm cedar. Foliage with bold form - snake plant, flax, or a clipped boxwood sphere - looks gallery-ready.
Tall Matte Cement Grey and Matte Gunmetal planters sit effortlessly with concrete, stucco, black windows, and quartz. Cool grasses and blue-green succulents (festuca, senecio) read sophisticated without trying.
Tall Matte Cobalt Blue planter is striking against white clapboard, stucco, and sandy pavers; pair with glossy greens like citrus or philodendron for a resort hit. In modern interiors, use it as the color moment against charcoal and walnut.
Placement tips that make it feel designed
Keep at least 6-8" from door swings so handles don’t scrape. On windy exposures, drop a couple of bricks or a bag of pea gravel at the bottom before soil to lower the center of gravity. Indoors, use a nursery pot inside as a liner so watering is mess-free; outdoors, raise the base slightly on rubber feet for airflow under the planter and cleaner patios. For stair landings and corners, angle the planter so one face aligns with each wall; the square top echoes architecture and keeps traffic flowing.
Soil, watering, and maintenance
Use a high-quality, well-draining potting mix (cactus/succulent blend for sun-baked sites). If you opted for drainage, add a mesh screen over the holes and a shallow layer of lava rock; if not, use a nursery pot cachepot setup. Clean the exterior with mild dish soap and water; avoid bleach or abrasives, and wax glossy finishes once a year for extra protection. These care notes are straight from the maker’s guidance on maintenance.
Styling it as a set
Because this model is part of the Potsdam family of tall square planters, it’s perfect for linear runs that turn a corner without breaking the design line. Use two at the corner and continue with matching rectangles along each side for a continuous, architectural edge.
